 ABSTRACT

In this study, GIM-TEC values derived from 12 different Global Ionospheric Maps (GIMs) which are produced by 7 different IGS Ionosphere Associate Analysis Center (IAACs) are compared with GPS-TEC values of IGS station of ANKR. GIM-TEC values are calculated from nearest four-grid point of the geographical coordinates of ANKR station using the simple 4-point bivariate interpolation. The sampling time of the data is selected as 2 hours for GIM-TEC and GPS-TEC to provide a reliable comparison. The comparison was applied for during 2008-2009 (low solar activity) and during 2014-2015 (high solar activity). The results show that the differences between GIM-TECs and GPS TEC is higher in equinox than solstices. In addition, the differences show increase trend in equinox and decrease trend in solstices. The differences is 2-3 times more in high solar activity than low solar activity and they are generally between 2-15 TECU in 2008 and 5-45 TECU in 2014. Yearly RMS of differences is the lowest for JPLG (final) and JPRG (rapid) which is produced by Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) both low and high solar activity.
